Painting over rotten wood is malpractice. Paint doesn't fix wood — it just hides the problem until next season, when it fails worse. On the shoreline, salt air and humidity chew through soft trim, sills and clapboards faster than inland. Every exterior we quote gets a rot inspection first. Anything soft or failed comes out, gets replaced with primed, back-primed material, and only then do we paint.
